• Design objectives so outcomes can be clearly
  measured
• 75 of those attending the training program will

Attainable

• Good objectives are attainable within a
  reasonable period of time
• Within the next six months participants will have
  observed four ways in which they can reduce
  family expenditures
• Fuel consumption for harvesting of corn silage
  will be reduced by 20
• Conference registrants will increase their out of
  pocket expenditures by 8 in the first fiscal
  quarter

Relevant

• Objectives should relate to the specific meeting
  or event. They should also be meaningful to the
  attendees of outreach programs
• By attending this outreach program consumers will
  discover six ways that they can save money on
  food purchases

Time-based

• An objective that can be accomplished in a
  realistic time frame
• Within four weeks participants will be able to
  navigate an on farm financial spreadsheet
• At the end of the term youth will demonstrate
  their ability to apply the five principles of
  good public speaking
