FAMILY
Her nephew was the archbishop of Baltimore,
Maryland. Her mother died when she was 3 years
old. Her stepmother was an Anglican while her
father was being her teacher.her life was very
hard when her grandmother disinherited her

LIFE
She had kids and then her husband died in 1821.
She then offered her daughter to God so that her
husband could have salvation. She became a
catholic after her husbands death.

Works
She opened a school for girls in Maryland next to
St. Marys Seminary. She was named after more
than 11 schools around the world. Most of them
being in Maryland.

HOBBIES
She loved to read the book of Psalms in the Old
Testament. She founded the Sisters of Charity
in the U.S.

PATRONAGE
Patron Saint of widows, children near death, and
teachers. She established a community in
Emmetsburg, Maryland
