Ultrasound Case Hamstring Tendon Avulsion

• Diagnosis Hamstring Tendon Avulsion with
  Adjacent Hematoma.
• History None
• Findings Patient felt acute onset of pain and a
  mass on the back of his thigh. The hamstring
  muscle is ruptured and retracted. Fluid and
  organizing hematoma fill the gap (white arrows).
  The retracted muscle (red arrow) appears as a
  ball-like structure with dense posterior
  shadowing (s).
• Treatment US guided aspiration on the hematoma
  and a cortisone shot.

• Diagnosis Hamstring Tendon Avulsion with
  Adjacent Hematoma.
• History None
• Findings Patient felt acute onset of pain and a
  mass on the back of his thigh. Long axis view
  showing part of the mass overlying the sciatic
  nerve (arrows) and deforming it. Dense
  calcification is present (ca).
• Treatment US guided aspiration on the hematoma
  and a cortisone shot.
