  • This photo of the exterior of Brooke Ss book
doesnt do justice to the real product! She
layered translucent vellum over printed paper and
attached it with eyelets in the corners, attached
a decorative metal plate, and tied the book shut
    with ribbon.

  • Laura N. made this scrolling book-in-a-box in
    2005.

56
  • Chandler W. (2005) made his cover out of steel
and stenciled his name and the flag into the
    steel.
  • The book is bound with metal rings.

57
  • Andrew H.s book (2005) has an armoire-style
    opening.

58
  • Andrew H.s book opens and folds out to reveal
    pages made of matboard.

59
  • Marc and Kellen constructed pyramid shaped books
    for their poetry.

62
  • Pat G. burn-etched the wooden cover of his
    poetry book.

63
  • Heres a close-up of Shanes book. Taking an
idea from Making Books that Fly, Fold, Wrap,
Hide, Pop Up, Twist and Turn by Gwen Diehn, he
used a shoebox, two cardboard paper towel rolls,
and a long length of paper to create a unique
book. By turning one of the paper towel rolls,
the book scrolls across a screen cut out of the
    shoebox.
