Title: Welcome to the Dragon Naturally Speaking Tutorial

1
Welcome to the Dragon Naturally Speaking Tutorial
  • Use the navigation links to move the pages.
Youll be using your voice to type in practically
    no time.

2
Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking is a program that will
    type what you say.
  • It is useful for those without the full use of
their hands or anyone else who prefers speaking
    over typing.

3
How to Start
  • To start in Dragon you need to open a Word
Processor and then select Dragon Naturally
    Speaking from the menu bar.
  • Now, select Use Natural Word.
  • Wait for the program to load then follow the
promptings and instructions on the screen. It
will take about 15 to 45 minutes to complete this
initial part. Dont worry, you only have to do
this once, and its actually kind of fun.

4
Dictating
  • Now that you have finished with the
preliminaries, you are ready to write something.
  • Turn the microphone on the toolbar and talk
    naturally.

5
Where to go, who to ask
  • There are two computers with Dragon installed.
One is located in the Smith Computer Lab. It is
the fourth computer from the entrance on the left
side of the room. This lab is on the ground
floor of the Lee Library (HBLL), south of the
circulation desk, across from the large globe.

6
Where to go, who to ask
  • The other one is in the computer lab on the 1st
floor of the WSC, across from the WILK board.
The computer is behind the lab attendants desk
    in a small, private room.
  • If you have any difficulty using Dragon, look
through the help menu or contact the lab
    attendant on duty.

7
All Done!
  • Happy dictating!
