  • To fly in Instrument Meterological Conditions
    (IMC) or under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)
  • To fly for hire gt 50 miles at night
  • To fly above 18,000 feet.

Obtaining your Instrument Rating
  • Must have at least 50 hours cross-country PIC
  • Obtain 40 hours of simulated or actual instrument
    time with
  • 15 hours dual
  • One 250 NM cross-country under IFR
  • Up to 20 hours in an FAA approved simulator
  • Knowledge Test
  • Practical Test
