  • Person
  • Place
  • Thing
  • Idea
  • Word that often comes with an article. (a, an,

  • Words that can usually be made plural
  • Have endings- hood, ice, dom, etc.

  • Main Verbs
  • a word that can change form
  • past tense, base form, ends with an s.

  • be, am, is, are, was, were, being, been

Pronouns
  • A word that takes the place of a noun, words
    acting as a noun, or another pronoun. What the
    pronoun refers to is the antecedent.
  • Some can be used as adjectives to modifying
    nouns.
  • This is called pronoun/adjective.

  • Describes nouns and/or pronouns.

  • Are normally before nouns or pronouns.
  • When derived from another part of speech can take
    of the endings -ful, -ous, -able, -ish, -ible,
    -ing, -ly.
  • The articles a, an, and the are also considered
    adjectives.
  • Possessive, demonstrative, and indefinite
    pronouns can be used as adjectives.

  • A word that shows the relationship of a noun or
    pronoun to some other word in a sentence.
  • Can be used as adjectives and adverbs.

    being more specific.

  • There are different forms to show the degree of
    comparison.
  • Positive
  • Comparative
  • Superlative

  • A positive adverb has no comparison.
  • A comparative adverb is a comparison of two
    actions.
  • A superlative adverb is a comparison of one
    action with two or more other actions.

  • A word that joins single words or groups of
    words and indicates the relation between the
    elements being joined.
  • There are three types
  • Coordinating
  • Correlative
  • Subordinating

    equal elements.
  • There are seven of them
  • And, but, or, nor, for, so, yet

  • Makes a relationship between clauses stronger and
    clearer.
