4
ADTH G90 Digital Satellite Dish
  • ADTH has invested heavily in the development of
this antenna system to provide a high quality,
low cost solution that is also easy to install.
The antenna system was developed to comply with
digital standards and requirements of 2-degree
    satellite spacing.
  • As more satellites are launched and positioned
closer to one another, this is a much needed
deterrent to the interference of strong signals
    transmitted nearby.

5
LNB
Low Noise Block Converter it's a device placed
on the focus of a satellite dish which amplifies
the incoming signal and converts the frequencies
used by a satellite receiver.

ADTH 8600IR Digital Satellite Receiver
  • As business customers require more functionality
from their satellite receiving equipment, ADTH
has aggressively developed systems to fulfill
those specific needs. The new receiver offers
    flexibility and is competitively priced.
  • ADTH Digital Satellite Receiver delivers a high
    quality digital signal using state-of-the-art
MPEG-2 digital compression technology. The menu
of this receiver is designed such that the
customer may set or change the channel frequency,
polarization, symbol rate or LNB local oscillator
frequency easily. This receiver can provide you
with rich and abundant digital satellite TV
    programs.

that cannot be penetrated. It is a stand that is
    provisioned for concrete block ballasts.

9
Satellite and Coverage
  • Dishes will be fixed on Telstar 5 - IA5
  • Receivers will be pre-programmed at ADTH to
    receive Telstar 5 IA5 programming.

10
How you receive the CTN signal?
Telstar 5 IA5 Satellite
Pittsburg Uplink
Your Digital Satellite Dish/Receiver
Via Vyvx video fiber
AMS Studios
11
Pittsburg Uplink
  • CTN is an occasional satellite user
  • We purchase a slice of a transponder
  • Strength of our signal
  • Occasional software updates
  • Encryption process

12
Installation Steps
  • Site Survey
  • Build satellite antenna (dish)
  • Install/Mount the Dish
  • Run cable
  • Install receiver
  • Align dish (point the dish)
  • Tune in the channels on the receiver
  • Label/Mark all cables/connections

13
1. Site Survey
  • Before attempting to install your system, it will
be necessary for you to survey possible locations
where you can successfully locate your dish.
  • Your dish must have a clear, unobstructed view of
the sky in the direction of the satellite
    (Telstar 5).

14
2. Build Satellite antenna (dish)see pg 5 8 in
HS manual
15
Tools needed
  • (1) 13mm open-end wrench(1) 13mm socket
  • (1) 10mm open-end wrench
  • (1) 10mm socket
  • (1) 2 Philips-head screwdriver
  • (1) 8mm nut driver or socket

16
3. Install/Mount the Dish
  • See page 9 11 in HS manual

17
6. Digital Dish Alignment InstructionsOnce you
have your dish assembled, mounted, cable run and
receiver installed (completed steps 1- 5) you
will need to adjust it to see the CTN satellite -
Telestar 5. These notes below will aid you in
aligning the dish to the correct satellite.

19
Digital Dish Alignment Instructions
  • 1 - Find optimum Elevation (up and down)
  • Adjust elevation up or down slightly until you
see your highest signal strength. This may be a
couple degrees above or below your given value on
    the Satellite Look Angle Chart.
  • When the signal strength improves, you know that
you are now getting signal from satellite instead
    of other terrestrial signal.
  • If signal quality does not appear at this point,
your dish is not pointing at the satellite.
Proceed to line up with the correct satellite by
    adjusting the azimuth.

20
Digital Dish Alignment Instructions
  • 2 - Adjust Azimuth (Right/Left)
  • If you did not see quality when finding the
elevation, you know that your dish is not
pointing at the exact azimuth. The satellite is
only 2 degrees apart from each other, so this is
    a high precision process.
  • Start in one direction, either left or right, and
move the dish only 1mm (1/16) at a time.
  • You must wait 15 seconds after each adjustment in
order for the signal quality to appear.
  • The signal strength may fluctuate up or down a
few points but should not drop as low as it was
    before you found the elevation.
  • If signal quality does not appear after several
adjustments in one direction, start making these
same adjustments in the other direction.

7. Digital Satellite Tuning InstructionsFor ADTH
Satellite Receivers
  • This is a basic guide for tuning in channels on
your digital receiver. If you wish more detailed
instruction, please look to the Users Manual
that came with the receiver. If the program does
not come on when you turn on the TV and the
receiver, you may need to manually enter the
    satellite data.
  • Once you have tuned in a CTN program, the
receiver should save the data and you should not
have to re-enter it into the receiver.

23
Digital Satellite Tuning Instructions Satellite

  • Use your remote to go into the Main Menu
  • Select Installation
  • Select Service Searching
  • Select Manual Searching
  • Input data into the Manual Searching screen
  • CTN Program
  • TX No. Does not matter
  • D/L Freq. 12177
  • Symbol Rate 23000
  • Polarization V
  • PID Search Off
  • LDB Freq. 10750
  • 22 KHz Off
  • DiSEqc Off

Digital Satellite Tuning Instructions Satellite
Receivers
  • Select OK
  • A box will pull up that says Append Yes or No,
    scroll over and select Yes
  • It should say Signal Searching Please Wait
  • There are 2 bars on the bottom of the screen to
indicate the signal strength and quality. The
bars in red color show the signal is in good
    condition.
  • Once the signal has locked in wait 30 seconds and
select menu 3 times to exit.
  • Next stair step through the channels. There will
be a white box in the lower left hand corner. It
should read LAO BC/BTV. That is the channel that
the CTN programming will be on.

25
Digital Satellite Tuning Instructions Satellite
Receivers
  • You will only be able to see CTN programming
    during the scheduled program times.
  • You may be able to view other foreign programs
    with these coordinates.
  • The LAO BC/BTV channel will generally show a
foreign program with the call letters LaoBC in
    the upper right hand corner.

26
Professional Installation
  • Approximately 180 per site for basic
    installation
  • Additional cost of cable runs for installations
over 60 feet at approximately 1.50 per foot
  • Custom manufactured mount per bid
  • Plenum RG-6 cable (special fire code cabling)
    1.50 per foot

27
Additional Equipment(as needed)
  • In-Line Amplifier (for cable runs beyond 200 ft)
    - approximately
  • Video Projector - approximately 1,700 to 2,200
for a good quality Toshiba projector
  • Ceiling Mount for projector - approximately 275
  • Projector installation and setup - approximately
    300

28
FAQs
  • I have signal strength but no quality?
  • Then, you have not found Telstar 5 yet
  • Elevation controls the signal strength and the
    Azimuth controls the quality
  • Both bars will be red if you have found the
    satellite
  • LNB Positioning?
  • The LNB should be positioned such that the cable
is coming down at 600 and the head at 1200

29
FAQs
  • Im seeing foreign programming?
  • You are probably on the right satellite there is
other occasional use foreign programming on the
same channel CTN uses for its live programs
  • Look for the white box with LAOBC/BTV
  • The receiver does not save the tuning
    coordinates?
  • The receiver will only save the coordinates if
you find the satellite. You will have to
re-enter until you find the satellite, then it
    will save the coordinates
