1. EUROSAI and Training who we are

• Established 1990 , General Secretariat Spain
• 45 members from Atlantic Ocean to Caucasus
• Meet every 3 years (2002 Moscow, 2005 Bonn)
• Training is one major EUROSAI purpose
• Consisting of 8 members observers
• Meet every year (Next meeting in Rome, Oct.2003)
• Now Chaired by The SAI of Russian Federation
• Created in 2000 by the Governing Board
• Consisting of 8 members observers
• Chaired by SAIs of France and Spain
• Preparatory body for the GB, dealing with all
  training issues

2. EUROSAI and Training where we stand 3 main
directions

• Train the Trainers programme Long Term
  Regional Training Programme in cooperation
  EUROSAI-IDI
• - Aimed at creating a pool of 50 Training
  specialists auditors
• - Divided in two phases Phase I (candidate
  countries) already completed, phase II (
  non-candidate countries) started
• Training events
• With specific objectives sharing experience and
  methodologies on concrete professional topics
• Organised each year Poland 2001 (audit with
  IT), Hungary 2002 (VFM auditing) , Czech Republic
  2003 (Evaluation of Internal Control)
• Dedicated Web sites
• - EUROSAI Training Web site hosted by the French
  SAI
• to share information on materials, programmes,
  and training activities
• - EUROSAI Newsgroup hosted by the Danish SAI
• to create a forum open for discussions between
  SAIs

• New opportunities and concerns
• Training activities expanding, pool of IDI
  Training specialists to be used
• Many fruitful initiatives related to Training in
  different circles (EUROSAI WG, Contact Committee,
  network of candidate countries)
• How to articulate all these activities and build
  on Training ?
• Decisions already made during Moscow Congress
• EUROSAI Budget increase, mainly devoted to
  Training
• Decision to launch a study on Training strategy
  
• Last steps and prospects
• January 2003 ETC Brainstorming meeting in
  Lisbon on operational plan
• July 2003 Questionnaire on Training Strategy
  sent to all EUROSAI members
• October 2003 report to EUROSAI Governing Board
• 2004 Launching the Training Strategy

What about Future Training Events ? How to build
on this one ?

• Training Events will certainly continue on an
  annual basis
• Topics will be chosen in accordance with
  priorities expressed in the questionnaire
• As for the previous, all materials on ICS Seminar
  will be available on SAO of the Czech Republic
  web site and through EUROSAI websites
  (www.eurosai.org)
• You may also consider creating an informal
  professional network between volunteers using
  participant list, or suggest to ETC any kind of
  follow-up
• Anyway, further Training developments will always
  rely on readiness and commitment of individual
  SAIs
• Therefore Our deepest gratitude and Thanks to the
  SAO of the Czech Republic for their efforts and
  perfect organisation of this Seminar !
