Read Yourself Well
  • Doctors Comments on Bibliotherapy
  • Good, useful scheme.
  • Very helpful.
  • Seems a good idea.
  • Another useful tool along with other therapeutic
    approaches.
  • Having been unaware of the service, I think it
    could be of great value.
  • It seems to be a useful addition to the range of
therapies available to treat mental illness.
  • Advised patients re scheme but didn't know we had
    to refer.
  • Now I have list of books and testimonial perhaps
    I will now consider use.
  • Would be keen to use this service.

20
Read Yourself Well
  • Follow up Questionnaire
  • (46 sent out, 23 returned 50 )
  • 91 would recommend Bibliotherapy to a friend
  • 87 felt Bibliotherapy helped at the time
  • 35 thought three sessions with the
bibliotherapist was enough (52 felt it was too
    few)
  • 39 use the library more since seeing the
    Bibliotherapist

21
Read Yourself Well
  • Client Comments from Follow Up Questionnaire
  • It gave me an alternative to tablets which I was
    glad of
  • I found bibliotherapy most helpful as I wasnt a
library member before. It encouraged me to join
and take out books about my illness. I found the
Bibliotherapist (Morag) was most helpful and very
    understanding
  • I found the prescribed reading very helpful
  • I think and feel Bibliotherapy has an important
part to play in this troubled society Sadly not
everyone enjoys self-help, nonetheless those of
us that do, appreciate the guidance received from
    the therapist
