3HOW CAN COURSE CHOICES AFFECT THE TRANSITION TO
HIGHER EDUCATION ?
- Levels of Qualification
- Subject Mix
4WHAT DOES THIS MEAN IN RELATION TO I.B.?
- Many courses will demand achievement of the Full
I.B. Diploma. - Many will indicate the type of overall score they
are looking for (28,30,35 etc). - Some will specify scores (5,6 etc) for particular
subjects at Standard or Higher level. - The breadth of I.B. removes many of the headaches
we used to have over prerequisite subjects (e.g.
Maths and English for many Aus/Canadian courses). - However, some degree courses will still demand
particular subjects, often at Higher Level.
