Vibrations

• All sounds are caused by vibrations.
• We hear these sounds because the vibrations
  travel to our ears through the air as sound
  waves, and then these vibrate our ear drums,
  which makes us hear the sounds in our ears.

Volume

• Different sounds have different volumes- some are
  very loud and some are very quite.
• On an oscilloscope screen, if the waves are very
  tall, the sound is loud. If the waves are low,
  the sound is quiet.
• The size of the waves on the screen is called the
  amplitude of the waves.

Pitch

• Pitch means how high or low the sound is.
• On an oscilloscope screen, the waves are close
  together for high sounds, and the waves are far
  apart for low sounds.
• The amount of waves going past the screen for an
  amount of time is called the frequency.
