THE POWER OF GOD AND YOU! --Exodus 3 11-14

Exodus 311-14 (Message Bible) Moses answered
God, "But why me? What makes you think that I
could ever go to Pharaoh and lead the children of
Israel out of Egypt?" 12 "I'll be with
you," God said. "And this will be the proof that
I am the one who sent you When you have brought
my people out of Egypt, you will worship God
right here at this very mountain." 13 Then
Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the People of
Israel and I tell them, 'The God of your fathers
sent me to you' and they ask me, 'What is his
name?' What do I tell them?" 14 God said
to Moses, "I-AM-WHO-I-AM. Tell the People of
Israel, 'I-AM sent me to you.' "

Points To Ponder
I am more than aware of my inabilities. But I
can not and will not focus on these.
I am created exactly as God intended. I am
intended for great things. I have purpose.
With God I am powerful. I can do all that God
has called me to do. I can make a difference in
others.

Father, help me to overcome any fears I may have
about entering into all that you have purposed
for me. I want to be all that I can be for You
and for others.

MOSES! HE'S OKAY TALKING TO THE GOD OF THE
UNIVERSE. BUT THE THOUGHT OF DELIVERING HIS
PEOPLE FROM BONDAGE HAS HIM SHAKING IN HIS BOOTS!

FACING A NATION WITH THE CALL TO 'FOLLOW ME INTO
THE DESERT' WOULD MAKE MOST LEADERS EXPECT A
LITTLE RESISTANCE. Moses did not release this
the very thing he was created to do.

SO HE BEGINS HIS PARADE OF EXCUSES. "WHY ME?"
WHO AM I? Exodus 311 I've been away for 40
years. Even when I lived back there in Egypt I
lived in the palace and was resented by the other
Hebrews. I'm to just show up out of nowhere with
a plan of deliverance? Lord, who am I to be
doing this mighty work?

GOD'S ANSWER I WILL BE WITH YOU! Exodus 312
It's not about your credentials, Moses. It's all
about me. You'll be the messenger, let me be God.

2. WHO WILL I SAY HAS SENT ME?
Won't this seem a little odd, me showing up with
a message from a god out in the
wilderness? There are lots of gods in Egypt.
What is your name?

GOD'S ANSWER
Tell them "I AM" sent you. I am who I am. The
ever present One.

3. AND WHAT IF THEY ARE A HARD SELL? Exodus 4 1
Don't you think this whole story will seem a
little unconvincing? You've got to give me
something more than words to speak.

"What's in you hand?"

4. I'M NOT MUCH OF A PUBLIC SPEAKER Exodus 4 10
It's just been these sheep and me out here in the
bush. My vocabulary isn't much developed and my
commands are pretty limited. "Over here." "Hey,
get back in the flock." It seems you'd send a
motivational speaker.

GOD'S ANSWER
Moses, you are the man. Now get down to
Egypt! Furthermore, I'll let you brother do most
of the talking.

THINGS YOU CAN BE CERTAIN OF
1. Your sender is God. You are his ambassador,
not a salesman. You are unique. ? God has been
empowering people for powerful things a long
time. You do your part and he'll do his. ?
Remember we are agents of the God of the
universe, the great I AM.

THINGS YOU CAN BE CERTAIN OF
2. God will use you, your gifts, you personality,
your place in society, your experience. ? He'll
do his 'magic' on whatever you now have in your
hand.

THINGS YOU CAN BE CERTAIN OF
3. Don't worry about being a gift orator. ? God
has used uneducated fishermen, shepherds, blue
and white collar folk. ? Trust God's Word to do
its mighty work!
