walk to Chester Cathedral, where you will be met
by your tour guide who will give you an
exclusive private tour. The Cathedral was
originally a Saxon Minster, then rebuilt as a
Benedictine Abbey, this magnificent building
has been the Cathedral of the Diocese of Chester
since 1541. The Cathedral houses one of the
most complete medieval monastic complexes in the
country. Intricately carved Quire stalls which
are almost 800 years old and considered to be

3Faith Trail 1415 Arrive All Saints Church,
Daresbury which features a 16th century font,
17th century pulpit and a memorial window to
Lewis Carroll designed by Geoffrey Webb.
Daresbury is the birthplace of Lewis Carroll. A
17th century carved wooden screen behind the
altar contains a good example of a 'Green Man'
and an 18th century acrostic in the bell tower is
of great interest. There is also an 18th
century embroidery depicting the church as it was
circa 1710 - completely worked in human

drive to Norton Priory - This 38-acre
award-winning museum and gardens has a 2.5-acre
Georgian Walled Garden with Rose Walk, herb
garden, fruit garden, vegetable plots and
herbaceous borders. Excavated medieval ruins, the
spectacular St Christopher statue, the lovely
Walled Garden and the extensive woodland and
