• The People First of Montana Campaign (video)
  states that 25 of SSI income is lost if people
  with disabilities marry and that this pushes them
  even further below the poverty line. (674 674
  1011)
• So what? If they dont marry, but live together
  without formalizing it in any way, why isnt that
  good enough? Isnt this a lot of bother over an
  outdated social institution?

• In your small groups discuss the influence the
  medical model of disability might have on the
  lives of people with disabilities in hospital or
  home-care settings? (Provide specific examples
  from the readings or personal experience.)

• Fix our own handicapist attitudes and behaviors.
