Change in Technology is Relentless
Technology can no longer be stopped!
  • If as Business Professionals we do not keep up
    with the fast pace
  • of technology, we will not be able to survive in
    such a competitive market.
  • The advantages of being knowledgeable in the
    technology field are
  • You become more qualified for job opportunities.
  • In the event that someone needs help at work, you
can help and become a better team player.
  • For most organizations technology has become a
    great benefit, since this has
  • allowed them to go paperless. The majority of
    companies now communicate
  • via email.
  • Business Organizations should understand the
    importance of
  • Networking
  • Specifications of equipment
  • Hardware and Software
  • Development of Custom Programming

I choose not bury my head in the sand.
  • Technology independence gives us a competitive
    advantage throughout our careers. Having
experience in this field allows us to have many
advantages over those who choose to remain buried
in the old age. There are many examples which
benefit our career and personally life for
    instance
  • Surfing the web
  • Using new hi-tech gadgets such as digital
    cameras, I-pods, cell phones.
  • Working with Microsoft products such as Power
    Point, Excel, Word
  • Downloading music, software, pictures.

How to jump on the tech conveyer belt
  • I personally choose not to keep my head buried
in the sand because I do not want to end up in
the tech-trash. By this I mean that I want to
keep up to speed with the new happenings in
    technology.
  • I do not want to rely on other peoples
expertise in order to get my job done. I want to
have my own knowledge and ability to complete any
task presented to me and tackle any challenge
    that may arise.
  • We can accomplish becoming savvy in the
    technology area by
  • Reading technology articles in magazines such as
the wall street journal, CNET news and ZDNet.
  • By taking seminars offered by your employer,
attending technology conventions and by taking
    personal courses.
  • Get involved in technology committees.
  • Volunteer for any presentation that involve
    working with hi-tech software.
  • Network and become friendly with the
technophiles at your job or in school so you
    can gain more knowledge.

5
What is my knowledge level in Technology?
  • On a scale of 1-10, Id say my knowledge in
technology is about an 8. I feel comfortable
working with Microsoft Software, surfing the web,
    downloading, troubleshooting, and installing
different programs. However, I still would like
to possibly become certified in Microsoft, attend
technology seminars and volunteer for different
projects at work to further expand my experience.
