Title: Potential signs of undiagnosed illnesses related to the Gul
1The Healing Sanctuary
- A specialized health facility for those sick
from chemical or toxic exposure, offering
traditional and alternative treatments
2Remember Rally Organization
- Remember Rally is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization
- Since 2003, volunteers have held fundraisers for
the health treatment of the 9/11 rescue workers - The organization wants to take a more proactive
and preventive approach, working with all
Americans including our Veterans who have been
exposed to harmful chemicals and toxins - The next step for Remember Rally is to create a
health facility that offers traditional and
alternative treatments for cleansing the body of
these harmful toxins
3Exposure to Toxins
- Vietnam Vets Agent Orange, Dioxins, Arsenic,
etc. - Gulf War Vets about 250,000 soldiers are ill
from the burning oil refineries and other war
zone toxins - Iraq War Vets exposure to depleted uranium as
well as other war zone toxins, also living in 3rd
world conditions with unclean bathing water and
other major pollutants - 9/11 Rescue Workers and NYC residents
- 250,000 to 400,000 people were exposed to toxic
plume - Not all chemicals have been identified
- Symptoms include WTC (World Trade Center) cough,
skin rashes, headaches, asthma, COPD, Cancers,
etc. - Katrina, Libby, Love Canal, etc.
- American Workers Industrial Contaminants,
Mercury, Asbestos, Lead, etc. - Average Americans Mercury, Heavy Metals, PCBs,
Hormones, Pesticides, Radiation (x-rays),Cleaning
Solutions, EM Waves (cell phones, power lines),
etc.

5Agent OrangeIllnesses Health Statistics
- During the Viet Nam war, over 22 million gallons
of Agent Orange were sprayed to 'defoliate' Viet
Nam - Dioxin is a compound found in Agent Orange and
has been shown to be a carcinogen - Agent Orange was applied by airplanes,
helicopters, trucks and backpack sprayers - The mist being sprayed soaked the soldiers, their
clothes and their food - 80 of the herbicide was sprayed between
1962-1971 and occurred in all 4 military zones - The exposure to Dioxins multiplies the chances of
cancers, immune system disorders, liver problems,
and more. The Veterans Administration and the
government has acknowledged 43 cancers and
sicknesses related to Agent Orange Dioxins - It also appears to multiply the chances of birth
defects in the children of those exposed. Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is 4 times more
likely to kill the children of Veterans exposed
to Agent Orange - Some diseases include Multiple myeloma,
Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma,
chloracne, Diabetes Mellitus Type II, Prostate
cancer, respiratory cancers, soft-tissue sarcoma,
Spina Bifida, and more - An independent team of scientists from Canada has
examined land in central Viet Nam and found that
Agent Orange is still evident in the soil
6Gulf WarIllnesses Health Statistics
- 700,000 military personnel served in the Gulf War
- 30 of those served suffer from chronic
multi-symptom illnesses - Possible adverse health effects may come from
exposure to sarin nerve gas, depleted uranium,
anthrax, pyridostigmine bromide, and the
botulinum vaccine - Potential signs of undiagnosed illnesses related
to the Gulf War include fatigue, headache,
muscle or joint pain, neurological symptoms,
signs involving the upper or lower respiratory,
sleep disturbances, dermatological disorders,
gastrointestinal symptoms, abnormal weight loss,
neuropsychological symptoms, memory and
concentration problems - Thousands of service-connected MS cases have been
identified
79-11Illnesses Health Statistics
- 9-11 was the largest disaster on United States
soil almost 3,000 people were killed - It took 6 years, 8 months to build the World
Trade Center and it took 102 minutes to destroy
the towers - The estimated temperature of the fires burning
were 1800 degrees F - Approximately 250,000-400,000 people were exposed
to the toxic plume at the World Trade Center - 35,000-60,000 rescue workers volunteers served
at Ground Zero and the Fresh Kills Landfill - According to the WTC Health Registry, there are
now people sick in all 50 states - Within 48 hours of the attack, the Fire
Department found about 90 of its workers
reported an acute cough - Some of the WTC dust was as caustic as drain
cleaner - Symptoms of those exposed include Asthma,
reduced lung capacity, headache, World Trade
Center cough, RADS, chest tightness, acid reflux,
depression, anxiety, oral and skin lesions,
memory loss, Sarcoidosis, Bronchitis, heart
disease, alcohol and substance abuse, and various
cancers - 9-11 created a variety and combination of
chemicals that people have not been exposed to
before. Some contaminants include Lead,
Asbestos, Dioxin, fiberglass, PCBs, Silica,
Cadmium, Mercury, concrete dust, burning jet
fuel, PAHs, Chromium, Benzene and more - It is estimated that there was 90,000 liters of
benzene, 400 tons of asbestos, 130,000 gallons of
PCBs, and 10,000 gallons of jet fuel - There are rescue workers who have already died
from exposure to a multitude of toxins
8Workplace Home ContaminantsIllnesses Health
Statistics
- According to the EPA, 20 million American workers
and Navy Vets are at health risk due to asbestos - There are currently about 80,000 chemicals
- Diacetyl, a flavoring chemical in microwave
popcorn and other foods can cause 'popcorn lung' - Many household chemicals are hazardous and a
current top 10 list include Air fresheners,
ammonia, bleach, carpet upholstery shampoo,
dishwasher detergents, drain cleaner, furniture
polish, mold mildew cleaners, over cleaner,
antibacterial cleaners, laundry room products,
and toilet bowl cleaners - According to Dr. Norman Edelman, Chief Medical
Officer for the American Lung Association, it is
estimated that 20 million Americans are asthmatic
and another 20 million suffer from chronic
obstructive pulmonary diseases like emphysema and
bronchitis - The Toxic Reduction Institute of MA has also
identified problem toxins in dry cleaning, vinyl
toys, shower curtains, and personal care items - The Swiss Chinese governments have set official
exposure limits for cellphone microwave emissions
that are 500 times lower than those mandated by
the United States -
- There are also multiple health problems
related to Katrina, Libby, MT, Love Canal,
Chernobyl, a nuclear accident in Tokaimura, Japan
and more

President of Remember Rally, Inc., a non-profit
organization that has raised funds for the 9-11
rescue workers for the last several years.
Thousands were exposed to numerous toxins from
9-11 and ongoing medical treatment will be needed
for years to come. The goal of Remember Rally is
to now expand their mission by creating a
specialized health facility for those affected by
chemical or toxin exposure. Not only would people
from 9-11 be treated but categories such as Viet
Nam Vets exposed to Agent Orange, military
personnel affected from the Gulf War or Iraq War,
Katrina, Libby, MT and workplace contaminants.
Diane lives and works in Luverne, MN. - Dr. William Meggs Dr. Meggs is a Professor and

the scene as a first responder during the 9-11
tragedy. Mr. Bethea was buried under debris when
the first World Trade Center tower fell. Upon
escape, Bethea helped another victim to safety as
the second tower began to collapse. He was then
covered in debris, only to escape once again.
Despite his own trauma, Marvin returned to Ground
Zero on September 14, 2001 to provide more aid to
victims, rescue workers, and volunteers assisting
in the search. Five weeks later he suffered a
stroke attributed to 9-11 stress and later was
diagnosed with adult onset asthma, post traumatic
stress disorder and chronic rhinitis. Mr. Bethea
currently takes 13-15 medications daily to treat
his multiple conditions. Marvin is also the
Co-Founder and Vice President of Unsung Heroes
