national and international Associations of social
workers? - The Branch is the second largest of 15 branches
of the Ontario Association. It has one
representative on the Provincial Board of
Directors, and representatives on a number of
provincial committees. The province likewise has
a representative on our Canadian board, and that
board has representation on the International
Federation of Social Workers. -

- Many! We seek individuals who could help by
answering our telephone queries, input local
information into our website, assist with
committees gerontology, membership,
publications, program and social justice. A small
group is a great way to be involved on issues you
care about and to meet others with similar
interest.

for work?. - The website strives to maintain an informed list
of job openings of interest to social workers.
Our office has resources useful for those seeking
employment or a job change. It also has materials
related to private practice. We provide
opportunities to network.

the branch or OASW (province). - Let us know. Typically, your branch adopts
positions on local or municipal government
issues, mindful of the position of our provincial
or national association(s). Should an issue
arise thats of interest to a member, advise our
president. Views will be taken into account in
the process of a developing and acting on a
position. A local position may also be sent to
the provincial association in a hope that it may
be adopted throughout the province. -
