STEPS TO MINIMIZE EXPOSURES

• Move Ceiling Tiles From A Side Position, Not
  Directly Under the Tile
• Avoid Disturbing ANY Sprayed-On Ceiling Material
• Avoid Disturbing Pipe Insulation Unless It Has
  Been cleared As Being Non-Asbestos
• Do Not Sweep Or Disturb Insulation Or Powdery
  Material On The Floor Under Pipes
• Do Not Saw, Drill, Or Break Non-Friable Materials
  That May Contain Asbestos
• Use Appropriate Precautions When In Tunnels

STEPS IF SUSPECTED ACM IS ENCOUNTERED

• Do Not Disturb Suspected ACM That Is Loose,
  Shaggy, Or In Bad Condition
• Stop Work That May Disturb Any Form Of Suspected
  ACM
• Report Encounter To Your Supervisor
• Supervisor Should Call Physical Plant
  (862-4424) For Sampling Needs
• Continue Work Only After Material Has Been
  Determined To Be Non-Asbestos Containing
