  • The most broadly-based of the routes, designed to
    maximise the range of employment opportunities.
  • Includes modules in law and court procedures.
  • Includes the criminalistic modules, but also
    some law-related applications of science in other
    areas such as enforcement of health and safety,
    environmental and trading standards law.

  • Concentrates on biological materials and
    techniques relevant to crime investigation.
  • Looks at DNA profiling, blood and bodily fluid
    analysis, tissue analysis, enzymology and
    entomological and botanical identification.

  • Focuses on analytical chemistry as used to
    provide forensic evidence
  • Identification of trace materials that may link
    suspect to scene
  • Examination of fibres, paint fragments, glass,
