Context of the Beatitudes

• (Matt 423) And Jesus went about all Galilee,
  teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the
  gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of
  sickness and all manner of disease among the
  people.

  upon an old if otherwise, then both the new
  maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out
  of the new agreeth not with the old. And no man
  putteth new wine into old bottles else the new
  wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and
  the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be
  put into new bottles and both are preserved. No
  man also having drunk old wine straightway
  desireth new for he saith, The old is better.

• (Jer 1023-24) O Lord, I know that the way of
  man is not in himself it is not in man that
  walketh to direct his steps. O Lord, correct me,
  but with judgment not in thine anger, lest thou
  bring me to nothing.
• (Ps 3723) The steps of a good man are ordered
  by the Lord and he delighteth in his way.

  word, that I may live and let me not be ashamed
  of my hope. Hold thou me up, and I shall be
  safe and I will have respect unto thy statutes

  way, and it shall be called The way of holiness
  the unclean shall not pass over it but it shall
  be for those the wayfaring men, though fools,
  shall not err therein.

  you, came not with excellency of speech or of
  wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
  For I determined not to know any thing among you,
  save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was
  with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much
  trembling. And my speech and my preaching was
  not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in
  demonstration of the Spirit and of power That
  your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,
  but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom
  among them that are perfect yet not the wisdom
  of this world, nor of the princes of this world,
  that come to nought

• (1 Cor 318-19) Let no man deceive himself. If
  any man among you seemeth to be wise in this
  world, let him become a fool, that he may be
  wise. For the wisdom of this world is
  foolishness with God. For it is written, He
  taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

• Mourn about what? How will we be comforted?

  above all the men which were upon the face of the
  earth.

  is with thee for this thing is too heavy for
  thee thou art not able to perform it thyself
  alone.

• (Isa 119-10) They shall not hurt nor destroy in
  all my holy mountain for the earth shall be full
  of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover
  the sea. And in that day there shall be a root
  of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the
  people to it shall the Gentiles seek and his
  rest shall be glorious.
