Mary Verrandeaux graduated from Ringling College of Art & Design with honors in illustration and graphic design in 1983. In 1985, Mary Verrandeaux competed in the Women's Tour de France. She also competed in a wide range of elite cycling competitions with several National Road Race podiums, 9 time Florida State Road Race Champion and a 3 time Olympic qualifier.
