Halesi-Maratika consist of three caves, confluenced by Sunkoshi and Dudh Khola rivers. According to the legends, Padmasambhava and his wife Mandarava freed themselves from the circle of rebirth and became immortal in these caves. These couple were considered as the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. So, caves are called “Maratika”.
