Now a practicing psychiatrist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Dr. Joseph Markowitz, has spent years expanding upon his knowledge of the field. Dr. Joseph Markowitz studied at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, did a residency at the Palmetto Health Alliance with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, and a fellowship at the University of South Florida School of Medicine in Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Joseph Markowitz is currently Board Certified in both General Adult Psychiatry and Addictions Psychiatry.
Dr. Joseph Markowitz earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, then attended the University of Medicine and New Jersey’s Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He continued his psychiatry training by completing a psychiatry residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, followed by an addiction psychiatry fellowship from the University of South Florida School of Medicine.
